Needle-in-needle Pinning Technique Using Disposable Hypodermic Needles for Fractures of Distal Phalanx With Dorsal Disruption

Fingertip injuries are frequently encountered by the hand surgeon, and often present with a combination of the following: avulsed or broken nail plate, nail bed disruption, and/or distal phalangeal fracture. Recommended management of these injuries consists of reduction of the fracture followed by repair of soft tissues.

Correlation between different instrumentation variants and the degree of destabilization in treating cervical spondylotic spinal canal stenosis by unilateral hemilaminectomy with bilateral decompression: a biomechanical investigation

Unilateral hemilaminectomy with bilateral decompression (BDZ) was proposed as an alternative decompressive procedure in cervical spondylotic myelopathy (CSM). Despite promising clinical results, the destabilizing effect is yet unknown. We therefore performed a biomechanical study to investigate whether lateral mass screw fixation should follow BDZ.

Does early surgery improve outcomes for periprosthetic fractures of the hip and knee? A systematic review and meta-analysis

Previous evidence has established that early surgery is beneficial to improve outcomes for individuals with native hip fractures in the elderly population. Patients who sustain a periprosthetic fracture have been demonstrated to have similar demographics and outcomes as those with native fractures around the hip and knee. We therefore set out to determine if there is a similar difference in perioperative outcomes between early and delayed surgery for periprosthetic fractures of the hip and knee through a systematic review and meta-analysis.

Unicondylar knee replacement versus total knee replacement for the treatment of medial knee osteoarthritis: a systematic review and meta-analysis

Since the optimal surgery for isolated medial knee osteoarthritis (OA) is unclear, this study aimed at comparing the effectiveness of unicondylar knee replacement (UKR) with total knee replacement (TKR) for simple medial knee OA.

Informe del Registro Nacional de Fracturas de Cadera (RNFC) del año 2019.

Physical activity and low back pain in children and adolescents: a systematic review

Due to a high prevalence of low back pain (LBP) among children and adolescents, it is significant to seek effective prevention and therapeutic procedures. One idea for the programmes is a potential relation between the occurrence of LBP and the level of physical activity. The aim of this review was to analyse the current knowledge regarding the association between physical activity and LBP among children and adolescents.

Association of age with incidence and timing of recurrence after microdiscectomy for lumbar disc herniation

Recurrent lumbar disc herniation (LDH) is the most frequent reason for reoperation after lumbar microdiscectomy. While several risk factors for recurrent LDH have been well-described, the effect of age on recurrence remains unclear, especially concerning the timing of recurrent LDH.

Coccygectomy for coccygodynia: a cohort study with a long-term follow-up of up to 29 years

Arthroscopic isolated long head of biceps tenotomy in patients with degenerative rotator cuff tears: mid-term clinical results and prognostic factors

The long head of biceps tendon is frequently involved in degenerative rotator cuff tears. Therefore, this study explored the clinical results of an isolated biceps tenotomy and identified prognostic factors for improvement in pain and function.

All-inside technique in ACL reconstruction: mid-term clinical outcomes and comparison with AM technique (Hamstrings and BpTB grafts)

Higher rate of complications with uncemented compared to cemented total hip arthroplasty for displaced intracapsular hip fractures: A randomised controlled trial of 50 patients

Low-profile double plating versus dorsal LCP in stabilization of the olecranon fractures

Radio-luno-triquetral bone-ligament transfer as an additional stabilizer in scapholunate-instability

Radiographic cervical spine degenerative findings: a study on a large population from age 18 to 97 years

Acute radial head replacement with bipolar prostheses: midterm results

Claims in orthopedic foot/ankle surgery, how can they help to improve quality of care? A retrospective claim analysis
