Fernando Corella, born in Madrid, Spain. Completed undergraduate education at the Autónoma University of Madrid. Orthopaedic fellowship at Gregorio Marañón University Hospital in Madrid. Awarded “Cum Laude” and “Best Doctoral Thesis” in 2012 at the Complutense University of Madrid. Currently working at the Hand Surgery Unit of Infanta Leonor University Hospital in Madrid (public medicine) and at Quironsalud Madrid University Hospital (private medicine). Member of the Board of Directors of the Spanish Society of Hand Surgery (SECMA) from 2013 to 2019 as the Editor-in-chief of the Iberoamerican Journal of Hand Surgery, and from 2023 to the present as Chair of Education. Associate professor in the Surgery Department and collaborator in the Anatomy and Embryology Department at the Complutense University of Madrid. Member of the Ethics Committee of Investigation at Infanta Leonor University Hospital. Special interests include wrist arthroscopy, ultrasound, anatomy, and education. Director of 20 wrist arthroscopy courses and 6 anatomy and hand osteosynthesis courses.

Mireia Esplugas is Co-Director at Kaplan Institute in Barcelona Spain since 2018. After graduating from University Autònoma of Barcelona, she undertook Orthopaedic Surgeon Residency at the Parc Taulí University Hospital. She undertook the EBHS Diploma in 2005 and was awarded with the Emanuel Kaplan Award for the Anatomical Excellence in 2015 for her anatomical and biomechanical cadaveric studies on the carpometacarpal joint of the thumb. Her clinical interests include wrist biomechanical dysfunctions, wrist and small joints arthroscopy, thumb base arthritis and hand or wrist trauma. Mireia is a FESSH Academy Faculty since 2021 and co-chaired the FESSH communication Committee till 2023. She actually sits in the SECMA (Spanish Hand Surgery Society) Board as the International Cooperation committee chair. She also sits as the Vice-Secretary General of IWAS, the IWAS Relationship Committee chair and as the co-chair of the IWAS webinars committee. Finally, Mireia has recently been elected as the President of the European Wrist Arthroscopy Association (EWA).
