"Cirugía de incisión mínima para la técnica de artroplastia total de cadera para el abordaje anterior lateral."

Jones, Richard "Dickey "

Abstract:

Purpose of review: Total hip arthroplasty performed with the use of minimal incision surgery has received tremendous attention recently. Various surgical approaches have been introduced or modified to minimize surgical trauma to the soft tissues in the hope of facilitating accelerated rehabilitation. This article outlines the techniques of minimal incision surgery using the anterior-lateral approach.

Recent findings: To the author's knowledge, no published reports have specifically focused on minimal incision surgery using the anterior-lateral approach. This is principally a function of the evolutionary stage that minimal incision surgery is currently in.

Summary: Minimal incision surgery is an accepted in total hip arthroplasty. Its efficacy and safety are being validated by many surgeons worldwide. This article focuses specifically on the anterior-lateral approach. Further analysis is necessary to determine whether minimal incision surgery will indeed facilitate rehabilitation and perhaps improve functional capacity.p>Current Opinion in Orthopedics. 16(1):14-17, February 2005.
