Abstract:

This reviews skeletal geometry as it influences patellofemoral mechanics, provides a comprehensive system to evaluate the contributing causes of patellofemoral dysfuction, reviews the measurements of limb torsion, femoral anteversion, and tibial torsion. It reviews the sparse literature which yields biomechanical and clinical evidence in support of rotational osteotomies. It reviews the author’s results of intertrochanteric osteotomy for anterior knee pain. It outlines the author’s current technique for rotational osteotomy.
