Summary

The hip is the ‘joint of childhood’. Hip pathology is relatively common in the child and is dissimilar to that found in the adult. The early diagnosis and treatment of hip conditions in the child can have a major influence on the outcome in adulthood. We describe a method of detailed systematic examination followed by a variety of diagnosis specific clinical findings found in children.
